Damask bridesmaids dresses

Hey guys, I hope all is well and that the year is starting of well. Remember to always look back at the blessings you have in this life and be appreciative. That's going to be one of my motto's for they year.

Today I just want to show you the damask dresses I made. I made 3 under the knee dresses for three lovely ladies (including myself, lol) They are made using cotton sateen ordered and printed by Spoonflower. It's such a great site for custom pieces. My friends and I looked almost everywhere there was to look in Trinidad for this print. I've been following Spoonflower for sometime so I knew we could get it printed.

The dress is made to somewhat look like Tom Ford's peplum dress worn by Jennifer Aniston. The dress here has great definition and a chevron pattern. The bride and the girls decided to make a similar fit with a boat neckline.

The dresses were not too difficult to construct. I used princess seams in the bodice and darts in the skirt. The peplum attachment was actually sewn into the dart so the skirt is without seams at the dart points. I had to make sure the pattern remained continuous.

So the styling was with pink and given the initial apprehension with the full damask dress I must say it turned out to be lovely. The bride and groom are wonderful friends and I wish them all the best in their union.
My fellow bridesmaids and friends :)
I hope you enjoyed, God bless!
