Silk sleeveless top

Hello everyone I hope all is well! I just want to share with you a self drafted top that I made using a lightweight silk in a natural colour.

I made a simple top draft with two small neckline pleats as the main design feature. I'm not sure that I did a good job because there is a bit of gaping at the armhole. I attached a simple slightly gathered peplum at the waistline of the top.

I made this top using 1/2 yard of fabric because I did not want to spend excessively on it and initially when I bought the fabric I had no idea what I'll do with it. 1/2 yard works for me for simple sleeveless tops because of my small upper frame but sometimes it's a real task making it happen.

The fabric has a lovely sheen and some stripes in green, gold and natural threads. It was a nice fabric find in the limited market here in Trinidad.

I have an invisible zip inserted on the side for a neat finish. The fabric is quite crinkled because it's silk and it also seems to have a slight silk odour that I probable can't get rid of.

The bodice is fully lined in a similar natural coloured chiffon.

I got myself a new camera (Samsung NX1100) hence the visual emphasis in these photos. I'm hoping to do a better job at documenting my work in photos and I am also hoping to do lots of nature shots as it goes along with the field I'm currently work/studying in.

Until next time lovelies, be blessed!
